The Electricity at Work Regulations state that all electrical systems and equipment used in the working environment should be in a safe condition. The Health & Safety Executive recommend that to comply with the regulations an inspection and testing schedule must be implemented at all workplaces. The frequency of this schedule will depend on the type of environment, but will typically be either 3 or 5 years.

Periodic Testing is the testing of an electrical installation in a building from the main incoming power all the way to the final circuits that could include lighting, power and machines.

Intersafe only carries out testing, and as such we are committed to providing an unbiased report of the condition of any installation we work on. We will recommend any remedial works that are required but we do not undertake these ourselves.

We are an NICEIC approved contractor and all our Engineers have City and Guilds 2330 and City and Guilds 2391 to allow them to carry out inspection and testing in accordance with Chapter 73 of the IEE Wiring Regulations and the relevant Guidance Notes issued by the IEE.

When Periodic Testing is being carried out there is a requirement for parts of the installation to be isolated for periods of time. It is often advisable to perform testing out of hours so that disruption to the client and staff on site can be kept to a minimum. We offer out of hours testing at no additional cost, and will work with the client to perform necessary tasks during shutdown periods. This exceptional service level has enabled us to maintain an outstanding client base including Motorola, American Express, Sony, Honda and Gillette to name but a few.

We use powerful test instruments and software tools to provide test data in either official NICEIC format or electronically.
